Welcome to this site. Thank you for your interest in finding out more about who I am, what I offer, and if I can be of help to you. I earned my PhD in Counseling Psychology from University of Oregon in 1991. I have been in private practice as a psychologist since then. I practiced in Eugene, Oregon, until 2000, when I moved to Arizona and opened a practice in Tempe.
Although I am a generalist and see people who have different life issues, I have extensive extra education in several areas. One is in working with people who have experienced traumas, both in childhood and in the recent past. I use many methods to help people heal from the effects of trauma, including EMDR, when it is indicated. Second, I specialize in incorporating meditation and mindfulness into therapy and can help you use your own spiritual life to support your overall wellness. I also am trained and interested in helping people with challenging health issues and with parenting and family issues.
In therapy with each person, I try to combine the latest research about how people change with your own inner guidance about how you can improve your happiness and well-being. All therapy is individualized for who you are. My goal is that you feel more whole, more empowered, and more compassionate toward yourself and others.

If Tao is like a river, it is certainly good to know where the rocks are.”
